I pinched this straight out of a Campbell's soup ad in Good Housekeeping magazine. Why didn't I think of this? I have tried some of the other soup/rice combos, but this sounds great. Why should soup always be accompanied by either a salad or a sandwich? Photo by: SoupPlus.com

Ingredients For poor man's beans & rice

  • 1 can
    (10.5 oz.) campbell's bean with bacon soup
  • 1 can
    water
  • 1/2 c
    uncooked rice

How To Make poor man's beans & rice

    In a medium to large saucepan, heat Campbell's soup with one can of water to boiling.

    Stir in the uncooked rice.

    Reduce heat to low and cover. Cook about 20 minutes until rice is tender, stirring occasionally.

    Serve with a green vegetable and some buttered crescent rolls.

    May double recipe for more than two people.
