Ingredients For penne pasta with priscuitto sauce

  • 1 lb
    penne pasta cooked al dente
  • SAUCE
  • 4 oz
    priscuitto cut into strips
  • 3 Tbsp
    unsalted butter
  • 1
    small diced onion
  • 4 Tbsp
    parmesan or romano cheese
  • 1 c
    heavy cream or half n half
  • 1/2 c
    peas (thawed)
  • 1 can
    italian plum tomatoes with basil
  • black pepper to taste

How To Make penne pasta with priscuitto sauce

  • 1
    Saute the priscuitto and onion in a skillet over medium heat.

    Add the tomatoes and break them up with a spoon.
  • 3
    Add the peas, cream and pepper.
  • 4
    Cook until slightly thickened.
  • 5
    Add the grated cheese.
  • 6
    Serve over cooked pasta and sprinkle with more cheese before serving.
