Ingredients For penne a la vodka

  • 4 oz
    prociutto ham, chopped
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 1 can
    (28 oz) whole tomatoes - drained, reserve juice
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1/3 c
    vodka
  • 1/4 c
    fresh basil, or 1 tablespoon dried
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 lb
    penne
  • 1 c
    romano cheese

How To Make penne a la vodka

  • 1
    Combine the first 8 ingredients and cook until short of a boil. Reduce heat to simmer.
  • 2
    Cook pasta until al dente. Drain and add the cooked sauce.
  • 3
    Top with romano cheese or have it to pass around the table.
