Ingredients For pasta, with sausage and cream

  • 12 oz
    radiatore pasta
  • 2 Tbsp
    light olive oil
  • 1 lb
    sweet italian or chicken sausage with herbs (casings removed and crumbled)
  • 1/2 tsp
    red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 c
    diced onion
  • 3 clove
    minced garlic
  • 2 (14.5oz) can
    petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 c
    heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3 Tbsp
    minced fresh parsley
  • 1 c
    shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

How To Make pasta, with sausage and cream

    Bring large pot of lightly salted water to boil. Cook pasta following package directions. Drain and set aside.

    Heat olive oil in large, deep skillet, over medium heat. Cook crumbled sausage and pepper flakes (if using), till sausage is evenly browned. Stir in onion and garlic. Cook until onion is tender.

    Stir in petite diced tomatoes, cream, and salt. Simmer until mixture thickens. 8 - 10 minutes.

    Stir in cooked pasta into sauce, heat through. If adding the shredded cheddar cheese, add it now and stir gently until it melts and blends into the sauce. Sprinkle with parsley.
