This recipe was my mother's , but I have made a few changes to put my own spin on it. It is always a family favorite. Now I'm passing it on to my daughter, and I'm sure she will make her own changes to make it her own and to suit her family's taste ! It takes a while but is so worth it. I guarantee that after smelling it cook for a couple of hours or more, everyone's mouth will be watering ! It's even better the next day. The longer you cook it the better it is.

Ingredients For mama millie' s spaghetti sauce

2 lbground chuck

4 cdiced tomatoes, seeded (or 2 large cans)

2 cwater

18 oztomato paste

1 lgbell pepper, diced

1 lgonion, diced

2 lgbay leaves, dried
-
2 Tbspsugar

1 tspsalt
-
2 - 3 clovegarlic, minced

1/8 tspblack pepper

1/4 tspcrushed red pepper

1 Tbsporegano, dried

1 tspitalian seasoning
How To Make mama millie' s spaghetti sauce

1In a large pot add tomatoes, water, diced bell pepper and onion (Mine were really big. If yours is on the small side dice 2 of each.),2 large bay leaves (or 3 small), sugar, salt, black and red pepper, minced garlic and the rest of the spices. Bring to a boil the reduce heat , cover and simmer 1 hour.

2Brown ground beef , drain off fat and add to sauce. Cook 30 more minutes then add tomato paste. Stir well. Cover and cook 30 more minutes , stirring every so often. Remove bay leaves then serve over your favorite pasta !
