16 ozdry elbow macaroni

6 Tbspmargarine,divided

1 cgrated parmesan cheese

1packet dry onion soup mix

4 Tbspminced garlic,divided

7applewood bacon strips
-
1 lgvidalia sweet onion,peeled and sliced

3fresh turkey drumsticks,removed the bones

4fresh turkey wings,removed the bones

2 tspdark brown sugar
-
2 Tbsppanko bread crumbs

3/4 call purpose flour
-
2 cmilk
-
1 Tbspitalian seasoning

16 ozcream cheese,softened

2 cshredded monterey jack cheese
-
2 cshredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
How To Make macaroni and cheese with zesty turkey

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.Coat the bottom and sides of a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray

2Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil,and macaroni and cook for 8 minutes.Drain and transfer to a large bowl with 2 tablespoons margarine and toss to coat.Add parmesan cheese,dry onion soup mix and 2 tablespoons minced garlic;mix well

3Place the bacon strips in a large,deep skillet and cook over medium-high heat,turning occasionally,until evenly browned,about 10 minutes.Drain the bacon strips on a paper towel-lined plate and chop into small pieces.

4Stir 2 tablespoons margarine,sweet onion and remaining minced garlic into the bacon drippings in the pan and cook and stir in 2 minutes.Add turkey pieces and mix well.Reduce the heat to medium-low,and add brown sugar.

5Cook,stirring occasionally,for 10 to 15 minutes until the turkey and onions are golden brown.Mix in cooked bacon and bread crumbs into turkey mixture,transfer into a greased baking pan.

6Return to skillet to the heat and melt remaining margarine over medium-low heat.Whisk the flour and stir until the mixture becomes paste-like and light golden brown,about 5 minutes.Gradually whisk the milk into the flour mixture and bring to a simmer over medium heat.Cook and stir until the mixture is smooth and thickened.Stir in italian seasoning,cream cheese and monterey jack cheese.Remove from heat and cool completely for 5 minutes.

7Pour the sauce over the macaroni mixture,stirring well.Transfer to a prepared baking pan;mix well.Sprinkle with shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese.

8Bake in preheated oven until bubbling,about 30 minutes.
