ALL THE FLAVORS OF ITALY. MAYBE ADD SOME SPINACH TO THE FILLING. USE SOME CRUSHED ROSEMARY AND SOME PINIOLI NUTS AND SOME OREGANO, MAYBE A SPLASH OF RED WINE. YUMMO!!

Ingredients For lasagna

12 ozwhole wheat lasagna noodles

10mozzarella, slices

1/2 tsppepper

2 tspsalt

2 Tbspparsley flakes

3eggs, beaten

3/4 cgrated parmesan cheese

3 csmall curd cottage cheese

1clove garlic, minced

1/2bay leaf , crushed

1 1/2 tspsalt

1 Tbspbasil

1 Tbspsugar

6 oztomato paste
-
28 ozstewed tomatoes

1 lbground beef
-
1 Tbspcanola oil

1 cmozzarella cheese, shredded
How To Make lasagna

1Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil. Add the noodles, oil and salt to taste. Cook for 12 minutes or until tender. Drain and rinse with cold water.

2Brown the ground beef in a skillet, until crumbly; drain. Stir in the undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, bay leaf and garlic. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3Combine cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley flakes, 2 teaspoons salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well.

4Layer the noodles, cottage cheese mixture, mozzarella cheese and ground beef mixture 1/2 at a time in a deep baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Add grated cheese last 5 minutes of cooking. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
