I had some leftover bacon that my husband cooked up for breakfast. I was going to make mac cheese and decided to add the bacon to it.

We're not sure there are many flavors that pair better than bacon and cheese. The more cheese (and bacon) the better and this macaroni and cheese recipe is packed with both! We love the variety of cheeses... makes for creamy mac and cheese. The bacon adds a bit of a salty, smoky flavor that complements the cheesy goodness.

Ingredients For karen's mac and cheese with bacon

4 ozColby Jack cheese

4 ozsharp cheddar

8 ozmozzarella cheese

1/2 lbVelveeta cheese

4 Tbspbutter or margarine

5 slicebacon, cooked until crisp

salt and pepper, to taste

1 1/2 cmilk, 2%

1 lbbox of pasta, cooked

1/2 cbread crumbs
How To Make karen's mac and cheese with bacon

1Cut Velveeta cheese into small cubes. Combine remaining cheese in a bowl.

2Put the cheese, butter, milk, salt, and pepper in a large saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat until cheese is melted.

3Add pasta and bacon to cheese mixture.

4Pour into a large casserole dish that has been prepared with vegetable spray. Sprinkle bread crumbs evenly over pasta.

5Bake for about 30 minutes or until bubbly.

6Let stand for about 10 minutes.
