italian pasta bake

A real easy crowd pleaser(serves a bunch). Can use your favorite pasta (I used whole wheat penne).

Ingredients

  • 1 package pasta (you choose) 13-14oz
  • 4 - sweet italian sausages (either pre-cooked or sauted), browned and sliced
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces package, mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, shredded

How To Make italian pasta bake

  • Step 1
    Pre heat your oven to 375 degrees. Spray 8X13 casserole dish with cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    Cook your pasta according to directions and drain.
  • Step 3
    In large bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, garlic salt, Italian seasoning and pepper until well combined. Add the pasta and mix well.
  • Step 4
    Saute your sausage (if uncooked) or brown pre-cooked sausage.
  • Step 5
    Put half of your tomato sauce on the bottom of the casserole dish, then spread half of the pasta mixture on top of it.
  • Step 6
    Then layer half of the sausage. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese next.
  • Step 7
    Repeat the tomato sauce, pasta mixture, rest of sausage, mozzarella cheese and finish by sprinkling the parmesan cheese on top.
  • Step 8
    Cover the casserole with tin foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and broil just for a minute or two,browning the cheese on top.
