This is pretty much the lasagna recipe I grew up with. Mom used ground beef, I changed it up with Italian sausage. Hubby just loves my lasagna, I hope you give it a try!

Ingredients For hearty baked lasagna

15 ozricotta cheese

2eggs, well beaten

1 1/2 tspsalt

1/2 tspblack pepper

3hard boiled eggs, grated

1 lbfresh mozzarella cheese, grated

1 lbbulk italian sausage, browned and finely crumbled

1 qtof your favorite pasta sauce

1 lbbox of lasagna noodles
How To Make hearty baked lasagna

1Brown and crumble the Italian sausage. Grate the hard boiled eggs. Grate the mozzarella cheese. Mix the ricotta cheese with the beaten eggs, add salt and pepper. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions.

2Prepare a 9 x 13 baking dish, by slightly covering the bottom of the dish with sauce.

3Next start layering. First a layer of noodles. Next, a layer of the ricotta mixture, about a third. Then about a third of the Italian sausage. Next, a third of the hard boiled eggs. Top with about a quarter of the mozzarella cheese. Drizzle some sauce across the top.

4Top with a layer of noodles. Repeat layers in step 3. Using another third of the ricotta, sausage, hard boiled eggs, and a second quarter of the mozzarella. Drizzle again with some sauce. Add third layer of noodles, and repeat layering ingredients. Top with final layer of noodles, mozzarella, and drizzle with sauce.

5Cover with a sheet of parchment paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, remove the parchment paper, and bake for another 30 minutes, until hot and bubbly.

6Remove from the oven and let rest for 20 minutes before cutting into serving size pieces. Enjoy!
