Ingredients For lasagna casserole

  • 1 box
    (8 ounces) elbow macaroni or shells, cooked
  • 2-4 c
    spaghetti sauce
  • 1 lb
    cottage cheese or ricotta cheese
  • 1 lb
    ground meat
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    green pepper, chopped
  • 1 c
    shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • basil, oregano, garlic salt, and pepper
  • 3
    eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/3 c
    grated parmesan cheese

How To Make lasagna casserole

  • 1
    Put the spaghetti sauce in a pot , and heat slowly. Season sauce with oregano, basil, garlic salt and pepper to taste.

    Fry the meat, onion, and green pepper in a skillet until the meat is browned and the onions are transparent. Pour off excess grease.

    Mix the macaroni and spaghetti sauce. Mix ricotta cheese, eggs, parmesan and 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.

    Put in a 13 X 9 inch casserole a thin layer of sauce, then 1/3 of the macaroni, then half of the ricotta cheese, then half of the meat mixture and another 1/3 macaroni, rest of ricotta cheese and meat.

    Put remaining macaroni on top and cover with mozzarella cheese.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
