easy 5 ingredient - tortellini bake
This 3 cheese tortellini makes a delicious dish without the chicken. I just happened to have one chicken breast leftover from the previous night’s dinner and wanted to use it; besides, I’m never quite sure how many are going to end up at my dinner table on any given night. I’m sure you could use up most any leftovers in this, as well as, change up the sauce from marinara to Alfredo.

Ingredients For easy 5 ingredient - tortellini bake

1 large boneless skinless chicken breast, cooked, and cut into chunks or pulled into shreds

3 cups marinara sauce, homemade or store bought

1 package (12 oz.) barilla collezione three cheese tortellini

½ cup shaved parmigiano regiano cheese

2 tbsp. parmesan cheese, freshly grated to pass at the table
How To Make easy 5 ingredient - tortellini bake

1Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom and sides of rectangular (9” x 13”) baking dish, with cooking spray.

2Cook tortellini according to pkg. directions until just a bit undercooked (about 7 minutes). It will continue to soften in the oven. Drain and set aside.

3Spread ¾ cup marinara sauce in baking dish. Arrange half of the cooked and drained tortellini in single layer over sauce; top with half of the remaining sauce and 1 cup mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers once again – tortellini and sauce.

4Sprinkle with shaved Parmigiano Regiano cheese.

5Cover with aluminum foil and bake 30 minutes. Remove foil; bake uncovered 10 - 15 minutes longer.

6Allow to stand 10 minutes before serving.
