I received this recipe from a friend and it makes a delicious dish that's ready when you come home from church or shopping or just to make earlier in the day for your evening meal. Use the sauce recipe given or your own favorite pasta sauce.

Ingredients For crockpot lasagna

  • 1 12 lb
    gound chuck or fresh ground turkey
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tsp
    minced garlic
  • sauce:
  • 1
    jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce, i use wal-mart brand garden combo (26 oz. jar)
  • 1 Tbsp
    italian seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1
    6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1
    can diced tomatoes
  • 1
    small can tomato sauce
  • 1 c
    water (pour water into cans and then into sauce)
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh basil or 1 tsp dried basil
  • 9
    lasagna noodles (no boil noddles are fine or if you use the boil kind, do not boil them but just a few minutes)
  • small carton cottage cheese or ricota if you prefer
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 8 oz
    mozzerella cheese, shredded
  • parmesan cheese

How To Make crockpot lasagna

  • 1
    Sauté meat, onion, bell pepper and garlic until meat is not longer pinkish and onion, pepper, and garlic are tender.

    Meanwhile mix sauces and spices together. Add meat mixtures to sauce mixture and simmer 30 minutes.

    Spray crockpot or slow cooker with cooking spray or you can use a slow cooker liner. Add beaten egg to cottage cheese in a small bowl and mix well.

    If you want to boil noodles, boil no longer than 5 minutes. Ladle some sauce mixture into the bottom of your crockpot or slow cooker.

    Add 3 noodles, top with some cottage cheese mixture, add some sauce, then some mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Repeat layers.

    Top with cheeses. Cook approximately 4 - 6 hours in crockpot or slow cooker, depending on your appliance.

    NOTE: If you're going to cook this most of the day, cook it on low; if you're only going to cook it a few hours, cook on high.
