Ingredients For creamy smoked sausage mac and cheese

  • 1 pkg
    smoked sausage,sliced
  • 2 c
    cheese, shredded
  • 1 box
    macaroni, elbow
  • 4 c
    milk
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 6 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt

How To Make creamy smoked sausage mac and cheese

    Lightly brown sliced sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels and set aside.

    Cook pasta according to pkg. directions and drain. Set aside.

    Pour the milk into microwavable bowl and heat until warm about 2 1/2 minures.

    In large pot melt butter over med. heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute stirring constantly. Gradually add the warm milk, whisking constantly until it is all added like a roux. Cook stirring very frequently until thick, about 5 minutes.

    Reduce heat to low and gradually add the cheese stirring constantly until melted. Add salt and mix well.

    Add cooked pasta and sausage to the pot and mix well. Enjoy.
