Ingredients For creamy baked macaroni & cheese

  • 1
    block (8 oz.) monterey jack cheese
  • 1
    block (8 oz.) mild cheddar cheese
  • 1 box
    (16 oz.) macaroni noodles
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1-2 tsp
    salt
  • 3 c
    milk

How To Make creamy baked macaroni & cheese

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Shred Blocks of Cheese seprately.
  • 3
    Cook and drain macaroni noodles according to package directions.
  • 4
    While noodles are cooking, melt butter in bottom of a medium sauce pan. Add flour and stir with a wire whisk until smooth.

    Add milk to flour roux, salt and monteray jack cheese only. Stir until chesee is incorporated into the milk smoothly and thickened.

    Mix together monterey jack cheese sauce, Cooked and drained macaroni noodles. Pour into a 9x13 glass casserole.

    Top with grated cheddar cheese.

    Bake in oven just long enough for cheese to melt. (5-10 minutes.)
