    16 oz box ronzoni garden delight penne pasta
  • 6 slice
    reduced-sodium bacon.
  • 1 c
    panko crumbs
  • 1/4 c
    melted butter
  • 1 tsp
    dried parsley
  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 3 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 3
    finely chopped shallots
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 4 c
    light cream
  • 1 tsp
    dried thyme
  • 1 c
    reduced-fat, shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 2 c
    reduced-fat, shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper

How To Make comforting creamy penne casserole.

    Heat oven to 350 Spray a 9 x 13" casserole dish w/ cooking spray. Set aside. Cook pasta as directed, drain. Set aside. Place bacon in lg skillet, over med-high heat. Cook until just crisp, drain on paper towels. Reserve drippings in small bowl. In another bowl, crumble bacon, mix in panko crumbs, butter and parsley, set aside. Heat oil in skillet, over medium heat. Stir in garlic and shallots, cook, stirring for 5 min. Stir in bacon drippings and flour. Cook, stirring for 1 min. Whisk in light cream and thyme. Continue cooking until reduced by 1/3. Add both cheeses. Cook, stirring until cheese melts. Season w/ salt and pepper. Stir in pasta. Transfer pasta mix to casserole dish. Sprinkle w/ bread crumb mix. Bake 25 min, or until bubbly.
