My mom used to make this instead of spaghetti because the noodles were easier to pick up with a fork and it added a little spice to it too. I like to also have garlic bread with cheese with it.

Julie's recipe should be a staple on any busy mom's menu. It's simple and easy to throw together. The whole crew loved this dish. The seasoning packet adds all the flavor you'd expect from a chili but you don't have to grab multiple spice jars. It seriously doesn't get easier than this recipe. Serve with a side salad and garlic bread and you have a super quick meal.

Ingredients For chili mac my way

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lg
    box of medium shells
  • 1 jar
    of your favorite spaghetti sauce; 24 oz.
  • 1 pkg
    of Chili-o-seasoning
  • 1 sm
    onion
  • Parmesan cheese for garnish, optional
  • 1
    loaf of your favorite garlic bread (optional)

How To Make chili mac my way

  • Finely chopped onions on a white cutting board.

    Finely chop onion. Set aside.
  • Meat browning in a pot.

    In a large Dutch oven, brown hamburger and onion until hamburger is no longer pink and the onion is translucent. Drain off excess fat. Return to pot.
  • Adding spaghetti sauce to ground beef.

    Add spaghetti sauce.
  • Pouring chili seasoning into ground beef.

    Add the Chili-o-seasoning. Stir.
  • Pasta shells boiling in a pot.

    In another large pot boil the shells until al dente.
  • Pasta shells draining in a colander.

    Drain.
  • Shells combined with meat mixture in a pot.

    Combine meat mixture with shells and stir carefully as to not tear the shells.
  • Sauce and shells topped with Parmesan cheese.

    Garnish with Parmesan cheese. Enjoy.
