Ever wonder what to do with that left over pasta? Why not a twist on an old classic? This is my version of Mac n cheese.

Ingredients For cheezy penne

  • 1 1/2 c
    cooked penne pasta
  • 1 pkg
    mozzarella cheese
  • bread crumbs
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
corn starch, dissolved in tepid water

How To Make cheezy penne

  • 1
Melt butter in a small sauce pan, add milk, and heat on low/med, add corn starch that's been dissolved in tepid water. Stir constantly, until it becomes thick. You are making a basic Alfredo, or white sauce. ( you can add garlic salt to this, or garlic powder, or any seasoning of your choice)
  • 2
In a big mixing bowl, mix sauce with cooked pasta (I used Penne but you can use whatever you have handy, really.) Mix in most of the package of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • 3
Place into a glass baking dish (the size appropriate for how much pasta you really want to use, I used a 9 x 7 sized dish)
  • 4
Top with remaining cheese, and bread crumbs. Bake until gold and bubbly in a 350 F degree's oven.
