This is one of our favorite dinners. It's simple but with lots of comforting taste. It's even fancy enough for company. Garlic bread and salad completes the meal.

Ingredients For cheese and pasta bake

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lg
    onion chopped
  • 1 jar
    14 oz. your choice spaghetti sauce
  • 1 can
    14.5 oz. stewed tomatoes
  • 1 can
    mushrooms stems and pieces drained
  • 8 oz
    cooked and drained pasta shells
  • 2 c
    sour cream divided
  • 6 oz
    sliced provolone
  • 6 oz
    sliced mozzeralla
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 20 pepperoni (optional)

How To Make cheese and pasta bake

    1. In skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic until done. Stir in spaghetti sauce, tomatoes and mushrooms. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer 20 minutes uncovered. Meanwhile, spoon half of shells into a 4 qt. baking dish. Layer with 1/2 meat mixture.Spread with 1 cup sour cream, top with provolone. Layer with remaining pasta, meat mixture and sour cream. Top with mozzeralla. Cover and bake 350 degrees in pre heated oven for 45 minutes until bubbly and heated through.

    NOTE: For a more pizza taste, add a layer of pepperoni on the provolone before putting the 2nd layer of pasta on.
