2 Tbspolive oil

1onion, finely chopped

1green pepper, finely chopped

2 clovegarlic, finely minced

2 lbground beef
-
1 28 oz. cantomatoes, crushed

2 Tbsptomato paste
-
1 cwater
-
1 tsporegano
-
1/2 tspcrushed red pepper

salt & pepper, to taste

1 lbelbow macaroni
-
1 cparmesan cheese
How To Make boston globe's american chop suey

1Cook onion and green pepper in oil on medium heat for 10 minutes. Stir in garlic for half a minute.

2Add ground beef and cook until pink is gone. Spoon off fat. Add tomatoes and stir in tomato paste, water, oregano, crushed red pepper and salt & pepper.

3Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, meanwhile cook elbows according to package directions.

4Stir cooked elbows into finished sauce. When serving, sprinkle with cheese.
