I grew up eating this delicious casserole. It truly is a comfort food for me. I have no idea who Betsy is, but this is what it's always been called. A wonderful, hearty meal!

Ingredients For betsy's casserole

1 lbground beef

2 Tbspoil

2onions
-
1 clovegarlic
-
1 (28 oz) cancrushed tomatoes

1 (6 oz) cantomato paste

3/4 - 1 cwater

1/8 tspthyme, dried

1/8 tspmarjoram
-
1/2 tspbay leaf
-
1 tspworcestershire sauce
-
1/2 tsptabasco
-
salt and pepper to taste

12 ozegg noodles
How To Make betsy's casserole

1Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish and set aside

2In large skillet brown ground beef.

3Chop onions and mince garlic. Add to ground beef.

4Add all remaining ingredients except egg noodles. Bring to a boil.

5In casserole dish put uncooked egg noodles in a layer. Cover noodles with ground beef mixture, making sure all noodles are covered so they'll cook and not burn.

6Bake in 350° once for 45 minutes.
