Ingredients For baked rigatoni pasta

  • 2 tsp
    olive oil
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lb
    mild italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1/2 c
    onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp
    garlic, minced
  • 24 oz
    jar marinara sauce
  • 8 oz
    can tomato sauce
  • 1 box
    (16 ounces) rigatoni pasta, cooked
  • 2 c
    mozzarella cheese, shredded

How To Make baked rigatoni pasta

    Heat the oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Add the ground beef and sausage to the pan. Season the meat with salt and pepper.

    Cook the meat for 3-4 minutes. Add the onion to the pan. Cook for an additional 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the marinara sauce and tomato sauce to the pan and bring the sauce to simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes.

    Toss the cooked rigatoni with the sauce. Pour the pasta mixture Into greased 9 X 13 inch pan and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake 350 degrees , covered for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes, then serve.
