Ingredients For baked macaroni and cheese, longaberger

  • 1 1/2 c
    uncooked macaroni
  • salt to taste
  • 1 c
    fresh bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c
    grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp
    unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 lb
    sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 c
    milk
  • pepper to taste

How To Make baked macaroni and cheese, longaberger

  • 1
    Cook macaroni in boiling salted water in med saucepan just until tender. Do NOT overcook. Combine bread crumbs, parmesan and 2 T unsalted butter in a bowl and mix well. Shred cheddar cheese and reserve 1/2 c for the topping. Drain macaroni and return to saucepan. Add 1/4 c butter and remaining cheddar cheese and mix well. Cook over med heat for 3 min, stirring constantly. Grease 8x8 or 2 qt covered casserole. Pour in macaroni mixture. Sprinkle with reserved cheddar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min. Remove from oven and stir. Top with bread crumb mixture and bake 15 min longer.
