Ingredients For all american macaroni casserole

  • 1-1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 c
    onion
  • 3/4 c
    green bell pepper
  • 2 c
    tomato sauce
  • 2/3 c
    tomato paste
  • 3/4 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2-2/3 c
    shell noodle
  • 1 c
    creamed cottage cheese
  • 1 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded

How To Make all american macaroni casserole

    In a large saucepan over med heat cook meat , onion, bell peper until veg are tender and meat is no longer pink. Drain. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano salt and pepper: cover and simmer 20 minute. Heat oven to 375 f.

    Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package direction for 8 minutes, drain. In 2 1/2 qt. casserole, layer one-half pasta, then meat suace. Spoon cottage cheese on top and sprinkle with 1/2 cheese. Repeat layers. Bake 15 minutes, cover loosely with foil and then uncover 15 minutes more until hot and bubbly..
