For anyone who has ever eaten at a Cracker Barrel , you will know how really good the soup is. This soup recipe is from the Cracker Barrel Old Country store cookbook that I got from them 15 years ago. I love navy bean soup and this has became a favoret of mine, and I use it often. Lt'g filling and great to eat on those cold wenter days.

Ingredients For supper in the south bean soup

1 pkgdried great northen beans ( or any beans of your choice )

8 cwater

2medim onions chopped

1/4 cbutter
-
2bay leaves
-
1 clovegarlic minced

2 Tbspparsley

1ham bone or 2-3 cups ham cubed

1 tspsalt
-
1 tsppepper
How To Make supper in the south bean soup

1Place beans in a large kettle with water to cover. Bring to a boil and boil for one hour. Drain this water off beans and put beans back into the kettle.

2Add the 8 cups of water and all other ingredients, Simmer over very low heat for 2-3 hours. or until meat comes off the ham bone. Serve hot.
