this is a great slow cooked chili it takes a little while to get it together but its worth it

Ingredients For slow cooked chili

1 1/2 Tbspvegetable oil
-
3/4 lbstew beef, cut into 3/4 inch cubes

2 Tbspchili powder
-
1 tspcumin
-
2 Tbspflour
-
1 lgonion, chopped
-
2 to 3 clovegarlic, minced
-
1 smgreen or red bell pepper, chopped
-
1/4 cchopped fresh parsley
-
1 can(16 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
-
1 can(16 oz) red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
-
1 dashdiced tomatoes
-
1 1/2 cbeef broth
-
2 Tbspbarbecue sauce
-
1 1/2 Tbspbrown sugar
-
3/4 tspsalt
-
sour cream, chopped fresh parsley or chopped red onion for garnish
How To Make slow cooked chili

1heat the oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.

2add the meat and brown it for 2 minutes, stirring often.

3add the chili powder and cumin and let the spices heat for 1 minute, stirring all the while.

4stir in the flour and let the mixture cook for 1 minute more.

5transfer the meat mixture to a large slow cooker. add the remaining ingredients (except for the garnishes)and stir well.

6cover the cooker and let the mixture cook for 6-8 hours on low heat, stirring occasionally.

7if necessary, thin the chili with a little water or stock as it cooks.
