We recently adopted a border collie/Aussie Shepherd mix dog. She comes from an animal shelter and has some health issues that we are trying to correct. It's going to be a challenge to get her well, but we are determined to do it. This is a great recipe and it is Grain Free. Even my vet approved. We supplement it with Blue Buffalo kibble which is a very good dry dog food. It has no wheat or corn in it. This food is edible for dogs and humans, though I prefer to give it to the dog :)

How To Make shizandra's raw dog food recipe

  • 1
Mix everything but the "meat" in a food processor until it's a puree. No lumps or chunks left. Scrape the sides of the process often to make sure it all gets processed.
  • 2
Dump the puree into a large bowl and add the chopped burger meat and massage it into the green mixture.
  • 3
I can't say how long this will last because it depends on your dog's feeding requirement. Shizandra is only a year old so we are giving her 1 cup of the green puree meat mixed with 1 cup of the kibble.

She really likes this and eats it willingly. Some days she eats a bit more than others. You can adjust the amount you feed your dog, but keep the left overs and add it to the next meal.
