This new oven fried chicken recipe tastes like orange chicken with honey. So, I decided to combine it with an orange chicken recipe. This is so delicious. I use chicken thighs, and it's so good with lo mein noodles or fried rice.

  • 2 c
    orange juice with extra pulp
  • 1 c
    honey
  • 2 tsp
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 2 tsp
    grated orange zest
  • 8 lg
    chicken thighs with skin-on
  • 1 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1
    packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 3/4 c
    panko bread crumbs
  • 2 c
    crushed saltine crackers

How To Make orange-honey oven fried chicken thighs

    In a large bowl, combine the orange juice, honey, brown sugar, onion powder and orange zest; whisk together until blended.

    Add the chicken thighs and mix well. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight.

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

    Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

    In a shallow dish, combine the flour, black pepper, and dry onion soup mix

    In a another shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs and crushed saltine crackers.

    Take the chicken thighs out of the orange juice-honey mixture and place them into the flour mixture.

    Dredge into the bread crumb mixture.

    Place them on a greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

    Then turn the pieces over and bake for another 30 minutes.
