Ingredients For mushroom toast

  • 4 slice
    thick sour dough bread
  • olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2 lb
    button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 sm
    shallot, minced
  • 2 tsp
    fresh thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 3 tsp
    white wine
  • 3 Tbsp
    heavy cream
  • fresh parsley, minced

How To Make mushroom toast

  • 1
    Preheat oven 350 degrees F. Brush the bread with a little olive oil and season with salt. Place the bread in the oven to get the ends crispy and toasted a bit.

    Add the butter to a saute pan. Add the mushrooms, shallots and thyme and cook until mushrooms have given up their moisture. Season with salt and pepper. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute. Add the white wine and let most evaporate.

    Add the heavy cream and cook for a minute or two. Taste and adjust seasoning. Spoon over toast and top with parsley.
