Ingredients For lentil burgers

  • 1 pkg
    (16 oz.) of lentils
  • water, cold...enough to cover lentils
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    italian bread crumbs
  • oil for frying

How To Make lentil burgers

  • 1
Sort & rinse lentils. Put in large pot, cover with water. Cook over medium-high heat, boil with lid on until water is absorbed. Lentils will be soft & plump.
  • 2
Put lentils in big bowl, let cool for 5-10 minutes, then add rest of ingredients, minus oil. Mix well with hands.
  • 3
Heat large frying pan with oil. Take lentil mixture in hand and form into burger shape, put in pan & fry up about 4-5 minutes per side. You will see them start to darken up. When done put on plate lined with paper towel. Serve on your favorite bun & toppings.

If you would like to freeze them, just stack them in a ziplock bag or your favorite container, but put a piece of wax paper between each burger. ENJOY!
