This is a version of jambalaya that my sister Mariann gave to me. Very easy to make and tastes great.

Ingredients For kielbasa,red beans and rice

  • 3 slice
    bacon
  • 1
    onion,chopped or sliced
  • 1/2
    green pepper,chopped or sliced
  • 2
    cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2
    15 ounce cans kedney beans or black beans ;drained
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 2 Tbsp
    ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    seasoned salt
  • 1 lb
    kielbasa
  • 1 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 2 c
    cooked rice, can use more

How To Make kielbasa,red beans and rice

    In skillet brown bacon and add onion,green pepper, and garlic and saute till soft.

    Add remaining ingredients except vinegar,sugar and rice, to bacon mixture in pan.

    Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.

    Stir in vinegar and sugar for last 10 minutes.

    Can add cooked rice (boil 2 cups of water with 1 cup of rice till tender.)to ingredients in pan or spoon kielbasa mixture over rice on plate.
