I created this braised chicken recipe with the addition of honey mustard. It goes great with a side of wild rice, mac and cheese, or potatoes au gratin.

Ingredients For honey mustard braised chicken

2 Tbspolive oil

8 lgfresh chicken thighs (skin-on)

2 mdshallots, chopped

2 clovegarlic, minced

2 choney mustard, divided

1 cheavy cream
-
1packet dry onion soup mix
-
2 Tbspcrushed red pepper flakes

2 tspsea salt mixed with black pepper
How To Make honey mustard braised chicken

1Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium heat; cook chicken thighs in the hot oil until browned, about 5 minutes per side. Remove chicken thighs from the skillet. Transfer to a large bowl and set aside.

2Cook and stir chopped onion in the same skillet until softened, about 5 minutes.

3Stir in garlic; cook and stir until fragrant, about 1 minute.

4Stir in 1 cup honey mustard, heavy cream, dry onion soup mix, red pepper flakes and sea salt/black pepper until thoroughly combined.

5Add remaining honey mustard over the chicken thighs in the bowl; mix well.

6Return chicken thighs to the skillet, cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until chicken thighs are tender and no longer pink inside, 25 to 30 minutes.
