My rendition of my Grandpa’s stew he would make with the string beans grown in his garden

Ingredients For grandpa‘s stew

1 1/2 Tbspolive oil

16 ozsweet or mild italian sausage links

1 mdyellow onion rough chopped
-
2 lgcloves of garlic rough chopped
-
28 oz cancrushed tomatoes + 1 can of water
-
28 oz candiced tomatoes
-
10 3/4 oz cancondensed tomato soup
-
1 Tbspsugar
-
2bay leaves
-
2 tspitalian seasoning
-
1 tspdried oregano
-
1 tspdried parsley
-
16 ozpepperoni stick cut into 1/2“ slices
-
4-5 mdrusset potatoes peeled and diced into ¾” cubes

1 1/2 lbfresh string beans (green beans) cleaned and rinsed
-
parmesan cheese, butter and italian bread for serving
How To Make grandpa‘s stew
-
1Pour oil in large heavy bottom stock pot over medium heat

2Cook sausage in pot, remove cut into 1/2" pieces and set aside

3Add onions and cook translucent
-
4Add garlic cook 1 minute more
-
5Add crushed, diced tomatoes, condensed tomato soup, water, bay leaves, sugar and remaining dried seasoning. Mix Well

6Stir in Sausage, Pepperoni, potatoes and string beans. Mix well and bring to a simmer

7Lower heat and cover for three hours or longer
-
8Remove and discard Bay leaves
-
9Serve topped with parmesan cheese and buttered italian bread. Enjoy!
