I wanted to try goat meat but I think I would like to try it in another preparation. The delicious spices of the Tikka were really all I could taste. The Goat meat was very tender.

Ingredients For goat tikka masala

  • 1 Tbsp
    garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp
    cumin
  • 1/2 tsp
    turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp
    smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 lb
    goat meat from a leg or roast, cut into cubes
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 4 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    grated ginger
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 can
    tomato sauce (15 oz)
  • 1/2 c
    coconut cream
  • rice, for serving
  • cilantro, for garnish
  • naan, for serving

How To Make goat tikka masala

  • 1
    Mix the spices together and rub all over the meat. Add butter to a pan and sear the meat on all sides. Place the meat in the slow cooker.

    Add the onion and garlic to the pan and cook until onion is translucent. Add 1/4 cup of water to the pan then pour all into the slow cooker. Add the ginger, brown sugar, and tomato sauce. Stir to combine well and let cook 8 hours.

    Stir in the coconut cream. Serve over rice and garnish with cilantro. Serve with naan for dipping.
