A kind lady shared this recipe with me several years ago when she introduced me to a real vegetarian meal, since then I crave those delicious meatless steaks from time to time. I made a few changes, added my touch to this recipe for healthier purposes. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did when I first ate them. They go great with peas and baked acorn squash.

How To Make gluten steaks
-
1Mix flours & liquids seperately, then together quickly.
-
2Roll out into a log then set covered til broth is made & brought to a boil.
-
3Add all ingredients for broth and bring to a boil.
-
4Cut steak log 3/4 - 1 inch thick pieces into broth and simmer for at least an hour.
-
5Use a large stock pot as gluten expands while cooking and tends to boil over if pan is too small.
-
6Take steaks out and allow to cool completely. Squeeze steaks between palms to remove excess liquid.
-
7Bread and fry, slice and fry for sandwiches, cut up into small pieces for stews, etc. This stuff freezes very well.
