During hunting season, my son and 3 grandkids keep us furnished with fresh deer meat. It is so good. This fried steak goes well with the Creamy 'Tators' I posted earlier. My online cookbook: http://txcherokee57.wixsite.com/rosescookbook

Ingredients For fried deer (venison) steak

2 lbboneless venison steak

1 call purpose flour
-
1 cbuttermilk
-
1/4 cwater
-
1 tspsalt
-
1/2 tspfreshly ground black pepper

1 tspgarlic powder

oil, for frying
How To Make fried deer (venison) steak

1In a bowl, mix together the buttermilk and the water. Soak the venison steaks for 90 minutes. Remove the steaks and drain.

2Sprinkle the venison with salt, garlic powder, and freshly ground black pepper. Tenderize by hacking both sides. Dredge the steaks in flour and coat both sides thoroughly. Fry in hot oil, turning ONLY once.

3Remove from pan and drain on paper towels.
