I always loved chicken tenders, so I created this recipe with a style from Louisiana Cowboy meals. It is great on po-boy sandwiches.

  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 2 c
    buttermilk
  • 3/4 c
    honey barbecue sauce
  • 1 c
    blue cheese dressing
  • 2 Tbsp
    crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3/4 c
    jalapeno pickling liquid
  • 6
    boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into tenders
  • 3 tsp
    Creole seasoning
  • 3 c
    crushed barbecue potato chips

How To Make louisiana cowboy chicken tenders

    In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, heavy cream, barbecue sauce, blue cheese dressing, red pepper flakes, and jalapeno pickling liquid; whisk together until blended.

    Season chicken tenders with Creole seasoning.

    Place chicken tenders into the buttermilk mixture; mix well. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Marinate for 4 hours.

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Coat with cooking spray.

    Take the chicken tenders out the bowl of buttermilk mixture into a large Ziploc bag.

    Add crushed barbecue potato chips to the bag of chicken tenders. Seal and shake the bag to coat it thoroughly.

    Remove from the bag; place on prepared baking sheet.

    Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear; about 15 minutes.
