My family loves chili year round so I make many variations of the dish. This version turned out to be everyones favorite and it also won third place in a chili cook off.

Ingredients For dad's chili

1 lbground beef

1 lbground italian sausage

1 tspsalt and pepper

1 tspcayenne pepper

1 cdiced onion
-
1 clovediced garlic
-
1 cdiced red bell pepper

1 cdiced green bell pepper

2 cantomato sauce
-
1 cancrushed tomatoes
-
1 canfired roasted diced tomato with garlic

1 pkgchili seasoning
-
1 candiced japelenos
-
1 tsptabasco sauce
-
1 canseasoned kidney beans
-
1 candiced green chiles
How To Make dad's chili

1Mix salt, pepper, and cayenne in small bowl.

2Rub on both sides of ground meats, set aside for 15 minutes.

3In a large pot over medium heat, brown the meat; drain.

4Add remaining ingredients, except the beans, and simmer for 1 hour.

5Add the beans and continue to cook for 20 minutes.

6Note: For a less spicy chili, reduce the amount of cayenne pepper.
