This recipe took about 25 tries before my family was satisfied that this was the best chili ever. Of course its always a matter of opinion.

Ingredients For crockpot chili

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 2
    onions, chopped
  • 4 clove
    garlic, chopped
  • 28 oz
    tomatoes, canned and chopped, with liquid
  • 15 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    cumin, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
    oregano, dried (mexican)
  • 1/2 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 30 oz
    kidney beans, canned, rinse and drain
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 1/4 can
    water

How To Make crockpot chili

  • 1
    Brown ground beef in a heavy skillet drain and place in crackpot. Combine onion,garlic,tomato,tomato sauce,chili powder,ground cumin,oregano,salt,pepper,cayenne pepper and kidney beans. Add to ground beef and stir to combine.

    Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours. Turn heat to high. Mix cornstarch and water add to chili and stir to combine. Uncover and cook for about 15 minutes until chili thickens.
