Wanting some chili but tired of the same old recipe I've used for years I decided to change it up a bit. I used some extra spices and a different kind of liquid. I was very pleased with the results. A nice change!

Ingredients For chili by ellen - reinvented

  • 1 lb
    ground chuck
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1 md
    green pepper, chopped
  • 2 sm
    tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 dash
    taco seasoning
  • 2 can
    chili beans, mild or hot
  • 2 c
    v-8 juice
  • 1/2 c
    elbow macaroni

How To Make chili by ellen - reinvented

  • Some of my chili's ingredients.

    In a medium to large kettle, brown ground chuck over medium heat.

    When the meat starts to lose its pink color, add the onions and peppers.

    Lower heat and simmer uncovered until meat is browned and vegetables are tender.

    Add chopped tomatoes, beans, juice and seasonings. Stir well to blend. Increase heat.

    When mixture starts to boil slightly, add macaroni and stir well.
  • 6
    Reduce heat again and simmer chili until macaroni is tender, about 20 minutes.
