Ingredients For chana masala

1 mdonion chopped

1 mdtomato chopped

1 inch piece of ginger

6 clovegarlic

1 smgreen chili seeded and chopped

1/2 ctomato sauce
-
3 Tbspolive oil
-
2bay leaves
-
2 Tbspbrown sugar
-
1 tspeach chili powder, ground coriander, & garam masala

1/2 tspeach turmeric powder and fenugreek powder
-
15 ozcan of chickpeas
-
salt to taste
-
cilantro for garnish
-
basmati rice and naan for serving
How To Make chana masala

1Place the onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and green chili pepper into a food processor. Process until well incorporated. Remove and stir in the tomato sauce.

2Heat the olive oil in a large skillet. Add the bay leaves and cook 30 seconds. Add the tomato sauce mixture and cook until the oil begins to separate from the mixture. Add all the seasonings and cook 3 minutes. Add the can of undrained chickpeas. Simmer 5 minutes. Taste and adjust for salt. Serve garnished with cilantro.
