Ingredients For cabbage stew

2 lbground beef

1 1/2 tspgarlic powder

2 tspblack pepper (ground)

32 ozbeef broth, reduced sodium

2 pkg(1 ounce each) dry onion soup mix

1 smonion (chopped)

1 smcan yellow corn
-
1 can(your choice) stewed tomato
-
2 cinstant white rice
-
4 cshredded green cabbage
-
3 ctomato-vegetable juice
How To Make cabbage stew

1Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion, and season with garlic powder and pepper; cook and stir until the beef is evenly browned. Drain off the excess grease.

2Pour the beef broth and onion soup mix into the skillet with the beef, and stir to blend. Bring to a boil, then add the rice, cabbage, corn, tomatoes, and tomato-vegetable juice. Stir together, then cover and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed

3NOTE: I used home canned stewed tomatoes ( including the liquid) for the tomatoes listed in the recipe. Yum
