Ingredients For cabbage stew

1large cabbage, cut into bite size pieces

1lb beef stewing meat, cut into bite size pieces

1large sweet onion, chopped

1 1/2 tspsweet paprika

4 - 6 tsptomato paste

1 tspsea salt
-
1/4 tspwhite pepper
-
2 Tbspolive oil
-
1/4 - 1/2tsp red pepper flakes

1large bay leaf
How To Make cabbage stew

1Put your cut cabbage into a bowl of boiling water for 10 - 15 minutes to soften. Drain and set aside until ready to use.

2In a large pot, add oil and put on low heat. Add the meat, cover the pot and cook 30 - 35 minutes, until cooked.

3Now add the onion, tomato paste, olive oil, paprika, pepper and chili flakes; stir for 2 or 3 minutes. Next add the cabbage and bay leaf, then pour in just enough water to covers the cabbage. Turn the heat to medium and bring to a boil, season with salt and simmer for 2 hours.

4When ready to serve, throw out the bay leaf. Serve in bowls with lots of fresh buttered or oiled crusty bread.
