NOTE: I HAVE ALSO LISTED THE QUANTITIES FOR MAKING A MUCH SMALLER BATCH, SINCE IF YOU ARE LIKE ME, THIS WON'T BE A HEAVILY USED ITEM IN YOUR KITCHEN. This is a spice mix traditionally used in Ethopian cooking. It is a very versatile mixture of spices, however, that can be used in other cuisines. Ingredients For berbere spice mix homemade (sallye))

  • 1/2 c
    sweet paprika
  • 1/4 c
    ground black pepper
  • 1/4 c
    ground cardamom
  • 1/4 c
    ground coriander
  • 1/8 c
    cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 c
    ground cloves
  • 1/4 c
    ground ginger
  • 2 Tbsp
    allspice
  • 1 Tbsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/8 c
    fenugeek (optional)

How To Make berbere spice mix homemade (sallye))

    Place all items in large mixing bowl and whisk briskly until well blended. This spice mix will keep indefinitely in an airtight container if kept in fridge.
