1/2 ceach dry: split peas, lima beans, kidney beans, northern beans,

3/4 ceach: black eyed peas and lentils

1 tspitalian seasoning

1/4 tspfresh ground pepper

1/4 tspcumin

1/2 cdry minced onion
How To Make "bean-there" soup gift in a jar

1IN a qt jar with tight fitting lid layer beans in any combination you wish. Place the baggy on top and cap. Decorate with a fall theme and attach a tag saying:

2Bean-there soup Take the seasonings from the jar and set asside. In a large bowl, rinse and soak the beans over night. in water to cover plus some. The next day rinse beans again and put into a large heavy cooking pot with 10 cups of water. Bring to boil and boil 5 minutes and turn off the burner for an hour or two. Bring to boil again and reduce the heat to a low heat and simmer two hours. Put in the seasoning and cook another hour adding water if needed. NOTE: you can add any meat you wish or go vegan. If adding meat you can add raw meat when you start the two hour low heat cycle or add cooked meat when you add the seasoning. Meats can be chicken, pork, beef, or any wild game
