baked italian meatballs
This is the way I’ve been making meatballs for several years. I choose To bake them. It makes an easier cleanup. Plus, it helps get rid of extra fat. You could fry meatballs in olive oil as well. Baking them gets rid of so much more fat. Add them to your favorite red sauce and enjoy!

Ingredients For baked italian meatballs

1 lb85 percent lean ground beef

1 lbground mild italian sausage

1 citalian bread crumbs
-
1/2 tspblack pepper
-
1 tspgarlic powder
-
11/2 tsporegano, dried
-
1 tspbasil, dried
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1/2 tsponion powder
-
3/4 cgrated parmesan cheese fresh not canned

3 clovemedium cloves garlic pressed
-
1 cchopped onion ( i used sweet)

2eggs
-
4 Tbspmilk
How To Make baked italian meatballs

1Place the ground beef and sausage in a large bowl.

2Mix the ground beef and sausage together thoroughly with your hands.

3Add in the remaining ingredients with the eggs and milk last.

4Knead mixture together really well with your hands. It will take 2 to 3 minutes to incorporate ingredients evenly.

5Roll mixture into 2 inch meatballs. You can also make larger meatballs, if you wish.

6Place meatballs on foil lined large sheet pan. Spray tops of meatballs with olive oil spray or any type of oil spray.

7Place in 400° oven. Bake about 30 minutes until meatballs are thoroughly cooked through and browned on the outside.

8Remove meatballs from pan into your favorite red sauce. Simmer in sauce for about 30 minutes or longer before serving. Serve over your favorite pasta.

9Note. You can cool meatballs and freeze in a gallon size Ziploc bag. You can also freezes in your favorite red sauce .To reheat frozen meatballs. Simply, place frozen meatballs into your favorite red sauce and simmer until meatballs are heated through. Serve over pasta. If freezing in sauce. Make sure that you thaw sauce with meatballs before reheating.
