Our neighbor gave this recipe to my Mother when I was a little girl.I think my Mother made it once, we did not eat lamb.My husband likes lamb but I don't cook it very often.The other day I asked Aunt Patsy did she eat lamb and she said yes.So I found this recipe out and I'll make it for them,I thought I'd share with you.

Ingredients For back yard lamb shanks

6 meaty lamb shanks

1 recipe barbecue marinade
- BARBECUE MARINADE

1 c tomato juice

1/2 lemon juice

1/2 c dill pickle juice

1 green pepper, finely chopped

1 t. salt
-
1 t. coarse cracked black pepper

1 t. cumin
-
1 t. marjoram
How To Make back yard lamb shanks

1Place shanks in a deep bowl.
Combine barbecue marinade.Pour marinade over shanks ; let stand 4 hours, salt meat.Divide marinade .Grill over slow coals,brushing with 1/2 of the marinade and turning occasionally,about 1 hour or until tender. Don't over cook.Heat remaining marinade serve as a relish. - Last Step: Don't forget to share!
