Ingredients For apple kraut bratwurst

5 linksbratwurst, (about 1 1/4 lbs)

1 1/2 cwater

2 Tbspbutter, divided

2 csauerkraut

1 bag(3 oz) sweet dried apple chips

1/4 clight brown sugar
-
1/2 cred wine
-
1/8 tsppepper
-
1/2 tspwhole caraway seed
How To Make apple kraut bratwurst

1Place bratwurst, water, and 1 tablespoon of the butter in large saucepan on medium high. Bring to boil and cook 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until water evaporated and bratwurst begin to brown.

2While brats cook, rinse sauerkraut under cool running water 30-40 seconds (to reduce tartness); drain well. Crush apple chips, place in microwave safe bowl. Stir in sauerkraut and brown sugar, cover.

3Cook sauerkraut mixture in microwave on HIGH 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until thoroughly heated. Add remaining 1 tablespoon butter, wine and sauerkraut mixture to bratwurst; sprinkle with pepper and caraway seeds. Cover and cook 6-8 more minutes, stirring occasionally, or untl internal temperature of bratwurst reaches 160 degrees. Use a meat thermometer to accurately ensure doneness. Serve.
