When I was about 14-years-old I saw this recipe in some magazine and thought it sounded good. I brought it to my mom and asked her to make it. She did and we thought it was good and it became a regular dish on our table. Serve this with green sauce on the side and a salad.

Ingredients For tamale pie

  • 4 slice
    bacon
  • 1/2
    bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 sm
    onion, diced
  • 1 can
    cream style corn
  • 1 can
    tamales
  • grated cheese

How To Make tamale pie

  • 1
    Fry slices of bacon until crisp and set aside.
  • 2
    Pour off some of the grease and saute bell pepper and onion.
  • 3
    Cut up a can of tamales and place in a 9 x 13 casserole dish.

    Crumble bacon in a can of cream style corn, mix with sauteed bell pepper-onion mixture, and pour over tamales.

    Grate cheese over the top. Bake in hot 400-450° oven until heated through and cheese is melted.
