When I was about 14-years-old I saw this recipe in some magazine and thought it sounded good. I brought it to my mom and asked her to make it. She did and we thought it was good and it became a regular dish on our table. Serve this with green sauce on the side and a salad.

Ingredients For tamale pie

4 slicebacon

1/2bell pepper, chopped

1 smonion, diced

1 cancream style corn

1 cantamales

grated cheese
How To Make tamale pie

1Fry slices of bacon until crisp and set aside.

2Pour off some of the grease and saute bell pepper and onion.

3Cut up a can of tamales and place in a 9 x 13 casserole dish.

4Crumble bacon in a can of cream style corn, mix with sauteed bell pepper-onion mixture, and pour over tamales.

5Grate cheese over the top. Bake in hot 400-450° oven until heated through and cheese is melted.
