Ingredients For tacos

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/4 c
    finely minced green pepper
  • 3 clove
    garlic, pressed or finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground thyme
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 12
    taco shells
  • 1 1/2 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 c
    finely chopped onion
  • 3 c
    shredded lettuce

How To Make tacos

  • 1
    Combine ground beef and green pepper in a 1 1/2 quart glass casserole, cover. Microwave on high for 6 minutes, stirring once. Stir in tomato paste and seasonings, cover. Microwave on high for 6 to 9 minutes, or until mixture bubbles, stirring once. Let stand, covered 5 minutes. Divide beef mixture between taco shells. Top first with shredded cheese, then with tomato, onion, and lettuce.
